Katherine Chappell, a film editor who worked on an Emmy winning episode of Game of Thrones and Marvel’s Captain America, was on a guided tour through the popular Lion Park, near Johannesburg, on Monday when she was killed by one of the big cats.

Great adventure: Chappell set off on her fateful trip to South Africa a week ago, traveling through London

Katherine Chappell, was in Africa raising money for a charitable organization that protects animals from poachers. She was killed by a lioness as she took pictures during a drive through the popular Lion Park, near Johannesburg, on Monday afternoon.

The Lioness dragged her out through the car window and mauled her neck.

The woman was dragged out the window of the vehicle. Visitors to the park are strongly advised by staff to keep the windows closed (another van of tourists is pictured, not involved in the incident)
